NVIDIA and OpenAI Forge $100 Billion Partnership to Build Massive AI Infrastructure

NVIDIA and OpenAI have announced a strategic partnership to advance AI infrastructure. NVIDIA will invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI, supporting the deployment of at least 10 gigawatts of AI data centers. These centers will utilize NVIDIA’s cutting-edge systems, representing millions of GPUs for OpenAI’s next-generation AI infrastructure. The first gigawatt of NVIDIA systems is expected to be deployed in the second half of 2026 on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform.

Data Center Expansion

The partnership includes the construction of five new AI data center sites in the U.S., expanding OpenAI’s Stargate project.

These centers will contribute to the project’s goal of delivering 10 gigawatts of AI computing capacity. The new sites are located in Shackelford County (TX), Dona Ana County (NM), Milam County (TX), Lordstown (OH), and an undisclosed Midwest location.

This expansion is expected to generate 25,000 onsite jobs and bring the total investment to over $400 billion.
